about
The song was inspired by Maxx’ relationship with his ex-girlfriend, when he noticed that she basically turns back to previous thoughts and actions, which she used to. We always return to our previous selves, no matter how many times we try to change, even if it’s not that good for us. But usually we don't need to, for nobody, especially if it makes us feel awful.
We are turning back to what we used to, is also the decision on recording the album like we used to, DIY, from the comfort of our own studio!
This song's album production was a roller coaster, members changed, members left, dates changed. The motivation was up and down, it was a fight, but we overcame our feelings and got out of our own way, and it's now done.
lyrics
I don't believe in fairy tales
I don't believe in fate
It's all bunch of bullshit
Just be - who you wanna be
Let's drop these mask we put on
And let's enjoy Today
They had to sell you stories
To keep you calm and sane
[Chorus]
But you're turning, turning
You're turning back
Turning back the way
you used to think
The way you used to be
Subconsciously
Maybe it were parents
Maybe the government
But above your shoulders
You have your own head
Let's drop these mask we put on
And let's enjoy Today
They had to sell you stories
To keep you calm and sane
[Chorus]
But you're turning, turning
You're turning back
Turning back the way
you used to think
The way you used to be
Subconsciously
[Melodic Chorus]
And your mind goes insane
Thinking about me
It's alright to feel that pain
Inside your small brain
[C-Part]
We know where all this going
It all will always end
The lies that you believe in
The bullshit you defend
[Chorus x2]
But you're turning, turning
You're turning back
Turning back the way
you used to think
The way you used to be
Subconsciously
[Melodic Chorus x2]
And your mind goes insane
Thinking about me
It's alright to feel that pain
Inside your small brain
